How to participate in discussions

Start a discussion

To start a discussion:
1.

Log in to your Wilam account at www.wilam.com.
2.

Click on the Create dropdown menu and select Discussion Thread.
3.

Click the Select Community dropdown menu and select the relevant community.
4.

Click the Cross post to (optional) dropdown menu and select another community. You can do this if you have joined this community and you want your post published there also.
5.

Complete all fields and Post or Schedule.

 

Reply to a discussion

To reply to a discussion:
1.

Log in to your Wilam account at www.wilam.com.
2.

Click on the discussion that you are interested in.
3.

If you want to reply publicly, click Reply.

4.

Enter your message and click Schedule or Post.
5.

If you want to reply privately, click on the Reply dropdown menu and select Reply privately.

6.

Enter your message and click Schedule or Post.

 

Tag someone in a post

To tag someone in a post:
1.

Create a discussion post.

2.

Type @ or click the @ icon in the text box.
3.

Type the person’s name and select the correct option from the dropdown list.
4.

Complete all fields and click Post or Schedule.

 

Add a hashtag in a post

To add a hashtag in a post:
1.

Create a discussion post.

2.

Type # or click the # icon in the text box and select a tag from the User Created dropdown menu.
3.

For a unique tag, type # or click the # icon in the text box, type a one-word tag and click Create tag.
4.

Complete all fields and click Post or Schedule.

 

Find and edit your draft posts

To find and edit your draft posts:
1.

Log in to your Wilam account at www.wilam.com.
2.

Click your Wilam icon and select Profile.
3.

Click the My Contributions drop down menu and select My List of Contributions.
4.

Click the View all items drop down menu and select View draft items.
5.

Click edit draft on the post that you wish to edit and publish.

 

Follow content of interest

To follow content of interest:
1.

Log in to your Wilam account at www.wilam.com.
2.

Select My Communities and click on discussions or threads from the community you’re interested in.
3.

Click the relevant thread subject and click follow on the top right-hand corner.
4.

To track content that you’re following, click your profile icon, click the My Connections drop down menu and select Following.
5.

To unfollow a post, click on follow to deselect it.
