Market Researchers in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies help teams understand how products are performing in the market and what patients, clinicians, and competitors are doing.

They collect and analyse data from a variety of sources – such as surveys, sales trends, competitor reports and healthcare databases – to deliver insights that guide business and product decisions.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working with data, asking the right questions, and turning information into clear, actionable insights for commercial and medical teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, manage and analyse market research projects to understand customer needs, competitor activity, and product performance
  • Collect and interpret data from sources like healthcare provider interviews, online surveys, focus groups, and industry reports
  • Prepare clear and visually engaging reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal teams
  • Monitor and track competitor products, pricing strategies, promotional activities and market share
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, medical, and business development teams to help inform product strategy and positioning
  • Support forecasting and business planning processes with relevant market data and insights
  • Stay up to date with regulatory, technological, and industry trends that may impact the company’s markets.

Required qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in a STEM discipline, business, or another relevant field
