We have an exciting announcement to share! To increase awareness of the breadth of career pathways available across the health and medical research sector, BioMelbourne Network is pleased to announce a project to highlight the diverse career pathways within Victoria's health and medical research sector.
This initiative, supported by the Victorian Government Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions, aims to address workforce challenges, skill gaps, and the transition from academia to industry. Minister for Medical Research Ben Carroll said "Victoria is a world leader in medical research because of our dedicated and talented workforce."
BioMelbourne Network will shortly be calling for members' support to map Victorian medical research careers, including what skills, qualifications and experience are really needed when applying for roles.
Career maps will be translated into interactive infographics, with the resources available on publicly-available pages on Wilam, the digital home for Australia's life sciences sector. The project will also include an online community to support engagement, jobs and opportunities boards, and mentoring between members of the ecosystem.
